The Munster squad are on a down week following the opening six-week block of the new season that included five URC games and one game against a touring Argentina XV.

Following last weekend’s win at Thomond Park, Head Coach Clayton McMillan confirmed that Mike Haley rolled his ankle and there were no further injury worries.

Munster captain Tadhg Beirne, Tom Ahern, Craig Casey, Jack Crowley and Tom Farrell are all with the Ireland squad preparing for Saturday’s clash against Japan.

Lee Barron, Dan Kelly, Michael Milne, Evan O’Connell and Ruadhán Quinn are all with the Ireland XV squad ahead of their clash with Spain on Saturday with Mossy Lawler on the coaching team as Backs/Attack Coach.

47 players have featured in the opening six games of the campaign including Academy players Ronan Foxe, Ben O’Connor, Jake O’Riordan, Max Clein and Luke Murphy with Foxe making his first start for the province as O’Riordan, Clein and Murphy all made their debuts.

There have been Munster debuts for summer signings Dan Kelly and Conor Ryan.

There were nine appearances for Academy players in the AIL at the weekend.  So far this season, there have been 80 club appearances for senior and Academy players.

Dylan Hicks and Eoghan Smyth were in action for Cork Constiution in their one-point defeat away to St Mary’s College

Darragh McSweeney started for Nenagh Ormond in their loss to Lansdowne.

Gordon Wood, Tom Wood and George Hadden featured for Garryowen in their loss to Old Wesley with Tom Wood kicking a penalty and a conversion.

Oisín Minogue and Emmet Calvey helped Shannon to a victory over Ballymena with Minogue scoring two tries.

Gene O’Leary Kareem was in action for UCC in their Cork derby loss to Highfield.
