Calvin Nash, Jack O’Donoghue and Tom Farrell were the Munster try-scorers with Jack Crowley kicking 10 points off the tee.
A late defensive rearguard action earned a losing bonus-point and denied Toulon a four-try bonus-point.
Munster face Castres Olympique at Thomond Park on Saturday with a 5.30pm kick-off for our final Pool game. Clayton McMillan’s side require a bonus-point win to ensure qualification for the Champions Cup round of 16 on the first weekend of April.
