Hear from Jack O’Donoghue and Attack Coach Mike Prendergast ahead of Saturday’s Interpro Derby fixture against Connacht at Thomond Park (7.45pm).

Speaking about the mood in camp ahead of Connacht O’Donoghue said:

“Camp is good, it’s no secret, there’s a good vibe around the place. This week it’s about getting our bodies right, recovering, having clarity etc. We didn’t train on pitch on Monday but that allowed us to train at a higher intensity today [Tuesday], which was really good.

“It’s all well and good beating Leinster, but I think backing it up now this weekend will really lay a stamp down on the league; that we’re here and we mean business.

“It’s massive for us to be at home this weekend. The supporters that travelled up to Croke Park created an unbelievable atmosphere, unbelievable support and now we want to do that in Thomond Park. We want to make Thomond Park a place where fans love to come.”

Prendergast mentioned the squad preparations this week:

“When you do have a good performance or a good win against a team like Leinster, the message on people’s lips will be ‘can they back it up?’, and that’s the challenge this week. It’s crucial we set the tone in training to ensure we’re in the right place physically and mentally. We are moving day by day and checking in with how we feel to get the players right for Saturday.”

“They have Stuart Lancaster coming in, and in attack they have looked very sharp in their first few fixtures. We will have done our homework.”
