You Spoke, We Listened | Matchday Improvements

After every home Munster Rugby match, we issue a fan feedback survey to all attendees.

These surveys generate over 10,000 responses annually and are vital in helping us understand how we can improve your matchday experience.

We track these ratings internally and, at times, benchmark them against other stadiums in the URC. While some supporters may wonder if their feedback makes a difference, we want to reassure you that it is reviewed in detail and acted upon wherever feasible.

Here are some of the most frequent feedback themes from last season – and the actions we’ve taken or plan to take.

Catering & Concessions

• Aramark Partnership: We’ve worked with our new catering partner, Aramark, to improve food and drink offerings across Thomond Park.

• Queue Supervisors & Menu Boards: Supervisors are now in place to manage queues, and clearer menu boards have been installed to speed up service.

• External Suppliers: We’ve introduced new external catering units to diversify options and reduce congestion.

• Reusable Glasses: Following a successful trial in the West Stand, we plan to expand the use of reusable cups throughout Thomond Park later this season. We have removed the need for a deposit on each reusable cup.

• Additional Catering Units in Virgin Media Park: We are working closely with our catering partner, TeamServe, in Cork to ensure there are additional units in place this season with a view to shortening the queuing times and giving additional options for supporters.

Vaping Awareness

• We’ve increased signage and briefed stewards to monitor and address vaping more proactively.

Terrace Capacity

• The East Terrace capacity in Thomond Park has been reduced to improve comfort and safety. The reduction sees the East Terrace capacity decrease from 4,200 to 3,700 with 25,100 now the new overall capacity of Thomond Park.

Accessibility Enhancement

• Family Accessibility in East Terrace in Thomond Park: We have created a new Priority Viewing Area for Families & Children at the front of the East Terrace where priority is given to young families.

• Entry at Turnstiles: We have upgraded all of our ticket scanners at the various turnstiles in Thomond Park. This will result in a smoother and more efficient entry experience for supporters.

• Traffic Congestion Post Match in Thomond Park: We are working with the Gardaí with a view to implementing an improved traffic management plan which should improve the current congestion challenges after each match.

• Handrails are being installed this month in Thomond Park stands to support mobility.

• The Dolphin car park in Virgin Media Park has been resurfaced to improve access and safety.

• Improved public lighting in Virgin Media Park by the Dolphin entrance and new Centre Of Excellence car park.

• Row Labels have been refreshed throughout both stadia to improve navigation.

Toilet Facilities

• New public toilets have been added in Virgin Media Park within the new Centre of Excellence building which are easily accessible for East and North Terrace supporters.

• A new cleaning plan has been implemented to improve hygiene.

Matchday Entertainment

• Feedback on entertainment was mixed—some want more, others less. We’re working to strike a balance and create a consistent atmosphere across all matches.

• Virgin Media Fanzone: We have partnered with Virgin Media to create a consistent fanzone in both stadia. There are occasions whereby the fanzone cannot be erected due to weather conditions but we would hope that the fanzone will be there for most matches.

• Virgin Media Park: We have upgraded the speaker system in the East Terrace following feedback from supporters last season.

Match in SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh

• We are working with the stadium on improved access and transport plans as well as plans for a big screen which will all be finalised in advance of the match in December.
