Huge Crowds At Virgin Media Park & Thomond Park Concerts

Concerts at Thomond and Virgin Media Park.

There were seven concerts at Virgin Media Park this June and three at Thomond Park this summer, with over 164,500 tickets sold in total.

MCD Productions held seven major concerts at Virgin Media Park in Cork with the events proving hugely popular and a great success.

The Saw Doctors, The Corrs, Snow Patrol, Macklemore, Stereophonics, Duran Duran and Madness were among the star acts that took to the stage.

The capacity for Virgin Media Park was set at 15,000. The modified 3G pitch was covered for all the concerts at Virgin Media Park, with the stage installed at the Pearse Road end of the stadium.

There was a similar set up at Thomond Park, with the stage at the North Terrace end of the pitch looking out over this fantastic concert venue.

MCD Productions also hosted two Wolfe Tones concerts and The Script in three fantastic live events over one weekend at Thomond Park, showcasing the stadium in a different light during the off season.

The capacity was set to 30,000, with over 84,500 tickets sold.
