Did You Know?

Munster fell to just their first loss of the 2020/21 season when they were beaten 15-10 by Ulster in Belfast last weekend. The team that played at the Kingspan Stadium consisted of 14 changes to the team that won in Clermont. A late try from Darren Sweetnam and conversion from Jack Crowley secured a losing bonus-point for Johann van Graan’s side.

This Round 11 meeting with Connacht is a top-of-the-table Conference B clash with Munster leading the way on 33 points with the Westerners in second-place on 25 points.

With just eight points separating the sides in Conference B, Saturday night’s match in Galway will be a fascinating encounter. Andy Friend’s side will be going into the match with a lot of confidence after they recorded an impressive 35-24 win over Leinster at the RDS last weekend.

Munster have enjoyed recent success at the Sportsground with away wins secured in both the 2018/19 and the 2019/20 seasons. These wins were by seven points or less so another close match is expected in Galway on Saturday.

Munster have won each of their last five fixtures against Connacht.
