Barnes Out For Six Weeks

Danny Barnes who dislocated an elbow in Munster's British & Irish Cup game against Llanelli on Friday will be out of action for at least six weeks while Jerry Flannery sees a specialist in Cork today to have his calf injury assessed.
Munster's other walking wounded that include Paul O'Connell and Denis Fogarty are reported to be progressing well in their rehab, O'Connell still scheduled for a return sometime in December and Fogarty at some stage early in the New Year.

Tomas O'Leary (broken thumb) has six weeks left in his recovery but Barry Murphy continues to be troubled by a hamstring injury that shows no sign of abating and Ian Dowling is another who is eyeing a return in early 2011.

Tom Gleeson who in the past has proven more than an able centre replacement is recovering from a broken cheek bone sustained in an AIL club game.

Munster have currently 11 players on the sideline either through injury or suspension, eight of those are backs, and seven of those are Heineken Cup squad listed.

Today the forwards trained in UL and afterwards Shaun Payne named a 28 strong squad for Friday's Magners League clash with Benetton Treviso at Thomond Park Stadium (19.45).
