Cork Constitution defeated Garryowen 24- 8 at Temple Hill to go into top place and Shannon are second, after their 34-9 home win over bottom side Galwegians. Dolphin slipped down the table after their surprising 47-16 defeat by Buccaneers. Young Munster's have gone clear at the top of the Second Division after their narrow victory over bottom side Sunday's Well 23-22. U.L. Bohemian maintained their challenge with a 36-17 victory over Waterpark.
U.C.C. lost ground after being held by Bective Rangers 16-16 at the Mardyke. Old Crescent went down to their third defeat away to Barnhall, with the Kildare side now in second place. Thomond defeated leader's Old Belvedere 27-19 to move into a mid table position, while Midleton went down to their fourth successive defeat losing away to DLSP 15-11. Highfield beat fellow promotion hopeful's Greystones by 22-14 to move into third place three points behind the leader's, while Clonakilty's long trip to Derry ended in a 32-15 defeat.
The Heineken Munster Junior Clubs Challenge Cup final will be a repeat of last season's decider, with both Bruff and Nenagh Ormond qualifying for the decider. Bruff had to use all their experience to see off the challenge of Skibbereen at Musgrave Park, when a John Carroll try five minutes from time earned them a 13-9 victory. Nenagh defeated Cashel 11-8 in the other tie on the back pitch in Thomond Park.
Cork Constitution defeated U.L. Bohemian 26-11 to move within two points of Garryowen in the Munster Second s League, while in the Second Division, Highfield came from 15-10 down at half time to beat U.C.C. 35-15. Waterpark received a walk over from Old Crescent.
Muskerry and Charleville will contest the O'Neill Cup Final. Muskerry defeated Charleville 10-6, while Fermoy and Dunmanway played out a 10-10 draw after extra time, but Fermoy go through on tries, have scored two to the West Cork side's one.
Seven of the eight sides that will contest the top section of phase two in the Under Twenty South West Conference have been decided. Bruff top section "A" after they defeated UL Bohemian 30-12. Cork Constitution hold on to second place despite losing to Corinthians 8-0. The big shock of the day was N.U.I.G.'s 14-13 home win over Shannon while Waterpark defeated Thomond 20-10. In section "B" Sunday's Well and UCC share top spot.
The 'Well preserved their unbeaten record with a lucky 14-12 win over Highfield, while College defeated Old Crescent 14-5. Garryowen picked up maximum points with a 25-20 win away to Buccaneers, while the Athlone based side must win their final game away to Young Munster to book their place in the top section. Young Munster kept their faint hopes alive with a 24-7 victory away to Galwegians and scored four tries to secure a bonus point. They must win their last two games at home to Buccaneers and Highfield to claim a spot in the top section.
