As the number of Youth Development Officers in the province increased from 20 to 27 this season, the Munster Rugby Coaching & Development Office recently held an Induction Day

The Munster Rugby Development Office held an Induction Day for the Youth Development Officer staff for 2006/2007. Our YDO clubs have increased from 20 to 27 and we are currently reviewing applications from clubs in development areas to join the scheme for this season.

The induction day was held in Highfield RFC on Friday 6th October. The YDO s received their kit bags and balls and cones for the season and were given a power point presentation by Ultan O Callaghan, Provincial Development Manager. The presentation outlined the service level agreement and the development targets that are set for this season. It also detailed the role of the YDO in the structure of Munster Rugby and outlined the programs run by the development office.

Trish Drinan, Commercial Executive and Domestic Game PRO, spoke to the YDO s about the opportunities available for promoting their clubs, through the match programmes and the website.

Damon Urlich, Club Development Manager also spoke to the staff regarding his role in Munster Rugby and how he can assist them with any development queries their clubs may have.

Jane McCarthy from the HR Dept in Dublin came down for the occasion to issue all staff with their contracts and to discuss the HR policies in place in the IRFU.

The day was a huge success and was a great start to the season and an opportunity to welcome new YDO s to the team. We took individual photos of each YDO and gathered information for their personal profiles, which will be posted on the new development section on the website.
