Munster Rugby Awards Set for Thomond Park Stadium

The third annual Munster Rugby Awards in association with The Irish Examiner, will take place on Saturday 25th April next in the Thomond Park Stadium in Limerick for the first time.
The purpose of the awards is to recognise individual feats in the sport in Munster, as well as the achievements of clubs and schools both on and off the pitch. The awards ceremony celebrates the spirit of rugby in the province by encompassing both the professional and domestic game. Eleven diverse categories will be honoured, ranging from Munster Player and Young Player of the Year through to up and coming Academy talent, women's rugby, referees, schools and clubs.

All funds raised will contribute to the running and development of the Munster Rugby Academy. Rugby legend and esteemed rugby writer Donal Lenihan will host the event with acclaimed comedian Risteard Cooper, of Apres Match fame, adding his own unique talents to the proceedings.

Members of the Munster Rugby team have nominated four of their team mates for the prestigious Munster Player of the Year Award, with John Hayes, Paul O'Connell, Niall Ronan and David Wallace all put forward by the team. The winner will be chosen by the Awards Panel of Judges, with a public vote also taken into acocunt. Event sponsors, The Irish Examiner are currently running a competition in the build up to the Awards, asking their readers to vote for Munster's Player of the Year. Prizes include tickets to attend the Gala Awards evening, as well as the chance for a class to tour Thomond Park Stadium.

This year, Munster Rugby after offering a number of packages, with bookings being taken now on a first come first served basis, with full payment in advance guaranteeing the booking.

All funds raised will go towards the running of and development of the Munster Rugby Academy.
