The Scarlets go into Friday night s clash with Munster on the back of two narrow defeats, away to Ulster and the Gwent Dragons.

However, as Gareth Half Full Jenkins points out: the boys played well on both occasions. We weren t outplayed but we were outscored. However, when Munster come to Llanelli on Friday it will be a different matter, it s essential we win at home.

If we get a result it will keep us in contention at the top of the League , says the Boss. Selection has been problematic again this week and Gareth has been forced to name a provisional side pending release of players from the Wales team travelling to Ireland.

It s hoped that we might get Barry Davies, Mark Taylor and Iestyn Thomas back for the match.

Llanelli Scarlets Provisional team:

Barry Davies (tbc), Richard Rees, Mark Taylor (tbc), Matthew Watkins, Tal Selley, Gareth Bowen, Mike Philips, Phil John, Aled Gravelle, John Davies, Vernon Cooper (capt), Chris Wyatt, David Hodges, Gareth Williams, Scott Quinnell.

Replacements: Iestyn Thomas (tbc), Adam Yelland, Adam Jones, Emyr Lewis, Dale Brn Ceiron Thomas, Daniel Rogers.

The Munster Team will be finalized on Thursday afternoon once the team arrive in Wales.

Munster v Llanelli Scarlets Celtic League Venue: Stradey Park, Llanelli. Date: Friday February 20th 2004. Kick Off: 7:30pm.
