Munster Trail At The Break

At the end of a lively Magners League first half in Ravenhill, despite the dominance of Mick O'Driscoll in the lineout, Ulster lead Munster 14-3.
Ulster opened the scoring with a Rob Dewey try after 11 minutes converted by Paddy Wallace but straight away from the restart, when Niall Ronan was taken out, Paul Warwick kicked Munster’s first points.

He had a further opportunity in the 30th minute but from the Ulster 10 metre line his effort drifted narrowly wide.
O’Driscoll lorded the lineout and created Munster’s clearest chance in the 24th minute when his possession gave Anthony Foley leave to send a grubber up along the left touchline for Anthony Horgan to gather superbly and take play near to the Ulster line. O’Driscoll was on hand to carry on the move but it ended when the ball was spilled forward as the pack arrived to drive the big lock over.

In injury time Munster lost possession on their own 10 metre line, Niall Ronan was subsequently penalised and when Ulster won the lineout and spread it wide Ryan Caldwell was on hand to score his side’s second try, Wallace converting for a 13 point interval lead.
