He won a Schools Senior Cup medal with Rockwell, AIB League and Cup medals with Garryowen and was also capped on the Ireland international AIB League side.
Earlier this year, Midleton born Gerry Hurley made his senior Munster debut in the game against the US Eagles in Toyota Park in Chicago

Favourite Actor/Actress: Samuel L Jackson.

Most enjoyable holiday location: Garryvoe.

Favourite sport other than rugby: Gaelic football.

The sport you least like: UFC.

Person you would most like to meet:  Micheal O Muircheartaigh.

Sportsperson you admire most: George Best.

Hobbies: Fishing, Swimming and Pool.

Where and when did you first play rugby: 1992, for Midleton U-10 against Sunday's Well.

Biggest influence on career: My father. Alan Rutherford and Paul Cunningham.

Best career advice you were given: Find touch.

What you like Most/Least about being a rugby player: Winning/getting injured.

Other sports that you played: Gaelic football and hurling

Best rugby memory: Winning the Senior Cup with Rockwell.

Rugby Player you admire most: Waisale Serevi, Garth Edwards.

Rugby team you admire most: the Welsh team of the 70's.

Sporting event you would most like to attend: 100m Olympic Final.

If you weren't a pro rugby player what would you be: A Pastry Chef.

Plans for life after rugby and what provision have you made: Well I've got a B.A. but I'm thinking of trading it in for a suit.

Advice you would give to aspiring pro rugby player: Believe in yourself.
