Young Munster caused an upset at Lakelands Park, as Tipperary sides top Divisions 1B, 2A and 2B South.

In Division 1A, a penalty try in added time gave Young Munster a 21-17 win away to Terenure College. The sides were level 14-14 at half time, with Tom Waters scoring two tries for Young Munster and Benn Dalle Cort converting both.

An injury time penalty denied Cork Constitution a share of the spoils at Donnybrook, as they suffered a 36-33 defeat to Old Wesley. Johnny Murphy scored two tries for the Temple Hill side and George Good, David Hyland and Adam Maher got one each. Aidan Moynihan kicked four conversions.

Following their disastrous year in the top flight last season, Nenagh Ormond lead Division 1B with two maximum point wins, following their 31-21 home win against Naas. Patrick Scully scored two tries for Nenagh and Conor McMahon, Robert Tynan, and Matt Brice got one each. Jonty Stewart kicked three conversions.

Highfield produced a great performance in Belfast, to beat a fancied Instonians side 24-7. Tries from Dave McCarty and Travis Coomey and a conversion by Shane O’Riordan gave the visitors a 12-0 half time lead. Nick Greene added two further tries and O’Riordan converted one.

U.C.C. lost 31-26 at home to Blackrock College. Gene O’Leary Kareem, Daniel Murphy, Daniel Rock and Dylan Mullen scored tries for College and Karem added three conversions.

Garryowen lost away to Dublin University 46-22. Lachlan Pheely, Cathal O’Mara and Bryan Fitzgerald scored tries for the Light Blues. Alex Wood kicked a conversion, and a penalty and Chulainn Williams also added a conversion.

Cashel are top in Division 2A after their 36-29 away win in Belfast against Queens University. Philly Ryan and Alan Flannery each scored two tries for the Tipperary side, Tim Townsend and Ben Twomey got one each. John O’Sullivan kicked three conversions.

Shannon defeated Galwegians 25-19 at Crowley Park. Luke Doyle, Harry Long, Oisin Hade and Peter Duggan scored tries for Shannon. Hade kicked a conversion and a penalty.

U.L. Bohemian lost at home to Ballymena 31-28. Evan Lacey, Joe Johnson, Cian Casey and Darren Ferrer scored tries for Bohs, with Casey converting all four tries.

Clonmel defeated Dolphin 43-21 to take pole position in Division 2B South. AJ Thomas, Jack Walsh, Ben Masuku, Keith Melbourne, Brian O’Dea and Jason Monua scored tries for Clonmel and Josef O’Connor kicked five conversions and a penalty. Scott Sexton, Jack Winters and Liam Ormond replied with tries for Dolphin and Conor Mulvihill converted all three.

Old Crescent are also on maximum points after their 44-31 home win over Monkstown. Jed O’Dwyer scored three tries for the winners, John Lyons, Brian Molloy and Darragh McKeogh also scored tries. Ben Daly kicked four conversions and two penalties.

Midleton made it two wins from two with 58-0 win at home to Buccaneers. Charlie Baffigi, Joannes DuToit, Chris O’Brien and Tom Roche each scored two tries for Midleton and Hunter Cowan got one. Seamus Lyne kicked five conversions and a penalty.

Thomond had an impressive 55-7 away to Enniscorthy. Sam Birrane scored four of Thomond’s eight tries. Kealon McMahon, Evan O’Connor, Adam Guerin and Luke Fitzgerald got the other tries. Evan Cusack kicked six conversions and a penalty.

Bruff lost at home to Bective Rangers 57-7. Wiktor Wilczuk scored Bruff’s try and Paul Collins converted.
