Alan got the call along with Leinster No.8 Victor Costello from Ireland coach Eddie O’Sullivan as a precautionary measure following the continuing injury doubts over Munster’s Anthony Foley and Leinster’s Eric Miller, who are both suffering from rib injuries.

O’Sullivan and his management team are due to announce the Irish starting line-up on Tuesday (03/09) at noon.

Ireland v Romania
