First taking to the field for Bantry Bay RFC, the West Cork native attended Cistercian College Roscrea where he won a Leinster Schools Senior Cup title in 2015 and reached the final again in 2016.

In what proved to be a big season for the second rower, 2015/16 saw him claim the U19 Interprovincial title with Munster and line out for Munster A against Ulster A at Naas RFC in April.

Made his B&I Cup debut against Doncaster in January '17 and later featured in the final against Jersey Reds where Munster A won the title at Virgin Media Park.

Made his PRO12 debut away to Cardiff Blues in March that year and also featured against Benetton Rugby the following month.

Named in the 2017 Ireland U20s 6 Nations squad, making his debut against Scotland and featuring in a further three games.  Won selection for the World Rugby U20 Championship, playing in every game of the tournament.

Started off the 2017/18 season with three PRO14 appearances off the bench against Benetton Rugby, Cheetahs and Glasgow Warriors.

Wycherley was awarded Academy Player of the Year in 2018 and signed a one-year development contract for the 2018/19 season.

Featured off the bench in both early season games against Glasgow before making his first PRO14 start away to Cheetahs in November 2018.

Scored his first Munster try against Zebre in November 2018 and signed a two-year contract extension in December 2018 that will keep him at the province until June 2021 at least.

Made his Champions Cup debut at home against Castres Olympique in December 2018 and finished the campaign with 16 appearances to his name.

2019/20 saw Fineen make 19 appearances and an impressive start to the 2020/21 season earn inclusion to the Ireland training camp in October 2020.

Made 21 appearances during the 2020/21 season and capped off a fine year with his Ireland debut against USA in the Vodafone Summer Series in July 2021.

Made 23 appearances over the 2021/22 season. Missed a large chunk of the 2022/23 season with a shoulder injury but returned at the end of January 2023 and featured prominently over the second half of the campaign, making 12 appearances as Munster won the URC.

Signed a two-year contract extension in October 2022, keeping him at the province until at least 2025.

Wycherley made nine appearances during the 23/24 campaign, reaching his 100th cap for the province away vs Ulster in November 2023.

Despite sustaining shoulder and knee injuries, he finished the season starting in the second row against Glasgow Warriors in the URC semi-final.

Featured in 14 of Munster's first 15 games of the 2024/25 campaign.
