James Coughlan will undergo surgery on Friday after fracturing a bone in his left hand in the game against Ulster.
He will miss Munster's remaining games in the RaboDirect PRO12, initial reports are that he could be sidelined for 6-8 weeks.
Meanwhile Keith Earls will have a scan later today to determine the full extent of the leg injury he sustained on Sunday.
Munster trained this morning in CIT and expect to name their squad for the crucial clash with Glasgow Warriors (Musgrave Park, Saturday, 7.15pm) tomorrow.
