Munster and Northampton have met on seven previous occasions in the Champions Cup with Munster winning five times and losing twice, including a 17-6 win at Franklin’s Gardens in December.

Since that game, Northampton have beaten Harlequins 46-17 and were defeated 35-12 by Exeter Chiefs. Saints are sixth in the Premiership, two points behind third-placed Quins.

Prior to this season, the most recent games between the clubs took place in the 2011/12 campaign with Munster winning home and away.
