Squad Update

The squad assembled in UL today for the first full session of the week in the build-up to Saturday’s final round game of the RaboDirect PRO12 against Ulster in Thomond Park.

Following on from Saturday’s 55-12 victory against Edinburgh Duncan Casey and Andrew Conway are the injury concerns at this stage. The young hooker was replaced after 30 minutes with a right shoulder injury and will meet with a specialist this Thursday while try-scorer Conway sprained a toe in his right foot and will undergo a scan later today.

It’s good news for scrum-half Cathal Sheridan who returned to training today for the first time since breaking a bone in his arm against Ospreys in February, while Stephen Archer continues to progress well with his rehabilitation from a bulging disc in his neck.

Squad Captain Peter O’Mahony, who is currently rehabbing his left shoulder, underwent keyhole surgery on his right shoulder last week in using his time on the side-lines to repair an ongoing issue.

Back-row Barry O’Mahony will also complete his season following a rehabilitation programme after undergoing knee surgery for cartilage repair work.

Mike Sherry (knee), Dave O’Callaghan (knee) and Donnacha Ryan (foot) continue with their rehabilitation schedules.

The Munster Rugby Awards, in association with the Irish Independent, take place this Thursday at a lunch-time event at the Maryborough Hotel in Cork. James Coughlan, Ian Keatley and Conor Murray have all been nominated for Munster Player of the Year with the winner announced on the day.

Tickets for Munster's final round game of the season are currently on sale online and from the ticket offices in Thomond Park and Musgrave Park. Bid farewell and show your appreciation for Niall Ronan on the day when he takes part in the pre-match pitchside interview.

Family terrace tickets are available for €;40 – 2 adults and 2 children.
