All time leading All Black try scorer he joined Munster in January 2008. Plans for him to make his first start against Ulster in Ravenhill the week before the Heineken Cup game against Clermont Auvergne were thwarted by snow and instead he made his debut in the Stade Marcel Michelin.

Since then has been one of Munster's most consistent and influential performers with 32 tries scored in 94 appearances to date and has captained the side on several occasions
