Born in Auckland, New Zealand Danny made the move to Ireland at 10 years old. After one year in the Munster Rugby Academy he progressed to a Development contract, and then a full contract at the start of the 2011/12 season.
A former Ireland Under 20s squad member, he made his Heineken Cup debut in the 23-21 win over Nortampton Saints at Thomond Park (Nov 2011) and ended the season as second leading try scorer (5).
