Educated at PBC, captained the Ireland U20s, In his final year of the Academy Peter made his Magners League off the bench against Ulster (Jan 2010) and captained Munster to the final of the inaugural British and Irish Cup that season.
Awarded a senior contract at the start of 2011/12 season, he captained Munster in five of their opening games, made his Heineken Cup debut in Round One and scored a try in the second game away to Castres Olympique.
He won his first senior International cap against Italy (Feb '12), was included in the Irish squad for the June tour to New Zealand and played in all 3 Tests, starting the final one in Hamliton at number 8.
