The 25-year-old Limerick born UCC graduate comes straight into the Munster squad (Development Contract Summer '12) after impressive displays with Clontarf in the Ulster Bank League and equally impressive performances with the Ireland Club XV side.
A product of Crescent Comprehensive and Garryowen, O'Mahony is a former member of the Munster Rugby Academy and returned to the Munster fold this year.
He was part of the British and Irish Cup winning side in May 2012.
