From Buttevant, Co Cork, another who has come through the Munster Rugby Academy, he featured in Munster's pre-season '09 games, scoring a try on his debut and later made his senior bow.

After his second year in the Academy, he secured a Development contract and that season was accorded the Man of the Match award when Munster defeated the touring Australians at Thomond park Stadium.
