Joined Munster in 2009 after two years in the Leinster Academy. Prior to joining he played a starring role as Ireland A fullback in the Churchill Cup triumph in Colorado.
From Sandycove in Dublin he was educated in St Andrews College and UCD, won an All Ireland Junior League medal with Seapoint before making his way south to Munster.
A neck injury in December '09 ended his inaugural season and his return in September 2010 lasted seven minutes shy of 3 games, an ankle injury (v Ospreys) ruling him out until March 2011.
He fought back to feature in the end of season games and was called into the Ireland team for the pre World Cup games only for injury against France at the Aviva to ruin his chances of a World Cup place.
Missing out on the opening half of season 2011/12's rugby he made his return to the Munster jersey against Treviso in Feb. '12 and a week later scored a try against Cardiff Blues.
The injury front didn't end there with Felix picking up a shoulder injury at Munster's training session in the build-up to their RaboDirect PRO12 semi-final against Ospreys in May '12. This required surgery and sidelined the player once again until Oct '12 when he returned against Edinburgh Rugby in the Heineken Cup.
Underwent a minor knee scope at the end of Jan. '13 but was back in action a month later against Treviso, and finished out the season playing Rabo and Heineken Cup.
Joined the Ireland Squad on the North America tour playing against the United States and Canada in June.
Underwent surgery on his shoulder at the start of July and is ruled out of action for the opening part of season 2013/14.
Signed on for a further two seasons that will see him remain with Munster until at least the end of season 2014/2015.
Started Munster's first five Heineken Cup games in 2013/14 and produced a superb defensive display away to Gloucester as progression to the quarter finals was secured.
Named in the Ireland squad for the 2014 Six Nations but didn't feature
Included in the Ireland squad for summer tour to Argentina, 2014.
Featured for Ireland in all three victories of the 2014 Guinness Series, scoring his first two Irish tries against Georgia.
Signed a two year contract extension with the province in December 2014. Captained Ireland Wolfhound against England Saxons at Irish Independent Park before making his 6 Nations debut as a substitute against Italy in Rome in February 2015.
Finished the season with 21 appearances and two tries for Munster.
