New Zealand Maori international hooker Quentin MacDonald joined Munster on a three-month contract in March 2014.
The 25-year-old was Player of the Year for Tasman Makos as they won the ITM Cup Championship for the first time in October in 2013 and made six appearances for the Blues in Super Rugby last season.
Hailing from Blenheim in the north east of New Zealand’s South Island, MacDonald made his New Zealand Maori debut on the team's European Tour in 2012 and played in all three matches.
The former Marlborough Boys' College skipper was also part of the New Zealand side that won the Under-19 World Cup in 2007 and the inaugral Under-20 Junior World Championship in Wales the following year.
He made his Super Rugby debut for the Crusaders in 2010 and has gone on to make 28 Super Rugby appearances along with 56 games for Tasman Makos.
Started for Munster A in the win over Connacht Eagles in an Interprovincial at Dooradoyle a week after arriving in Ireland.
Made his senior debut for Munster against Benetton Treviso, March 2014 in the RaboDirect PRO12.
Returned to New Zealand following the completion of his three month contract, in which time he made three appearances for the province.
