Dublin born, educated at Belvedere College and UCD, he was capped 57 times by Connacht having joined in season 2008/2009 from the Leinster Academy.
Keatley made his Ireland debut against Canada in May 2009 and he joined Munster at the start of the 2011/12 season.
He played in all 22 of Munster's RaboDirect PRO12 games for season 2012/13, starting in 15 games.
He joined the Emerging Ireland squad in the Tbilisi Cup in Georgia, playing in all three games.
Keatley earned his 60th Munster cap against Ulster in the first game of 2014 and was named in the extended Ireland squad for the 2014 Six Nations.
