Munster Academy Year: Three (+1)

Position: Winger

School: Crescent College Comprehensive

Club:  Shannon RFC

Honours: Ireland U18 Schools 2012 & 2013; Munster U18 Schools 2012

Greg was part of the Crescent College side that won the Munster Schools Senior Cup in March 2013, defeating Rockwell in the Final.  O’Shea’s try against CBC deep in added time in the replayed semi-final at Musgrave Park proved crucial in Crescent’s first Cup win in 19 years.

He is one of three players advancing straight in to the academy from school level and Greg has also won two Junior Cup titles with CCC in 2010 & 2011.

O'Shea featured for the Ireland U18 Schools in the FIRA/AER U-18 European Championships in Spain in April 2012 and in France in March 2013.

The flying winger was selected for the Ireland Youth Olympic team for the European Youth Olympics in Trabzon, Turkey in July 2011, running in the 100m sprint and the 4 x 100m relay.

Played for Munster U20s in the Interprovincial campaign in September 2013.

Made his Munster senior debut coming on against Gloucester in the pre-season game in Kingsholm in August 2014, and went on to make his B&I Cup Munster A debut against Moseley RFC in Clonmel in October.

Scored a try for Ireland U20s against Italy in the opening game of the 2015 U20 6 Nations, however, a broken cheek bone sustained in the game would rule him out for the remainder of the competition.

O'Shea had his time in the Academy extended by one year after a series of injuries hampered his development, including an Achilles in 2015/16.
