Cork Constitution and Shannon continue to dominate in the First Division of the AIL, after away victories. The Temple Hill side left it very late to beat Co. Carlow 16-14 and Shannon had a deserving victory over Blackrock College 32-25. At the other end of the table Garryowen and Dolphin eased their relegation worries with impressive victories. Garryowen defeated Dungannon 21-8 and Dolphin beat Lansdowne 27-15.
In the Second Division U.L. Bohemian and U.C.C. maintained their challenge. The Limerick side defeated Ballynahinch 18-8 at Thomond Park and U.C.C. defeated Terenure College at Lakelands 25-20. Old Crescent's hopes of promotion look over after they lost 18-12 at home to Bective Rangers. Young Munster went down to Malone 21-13 at Clifford Park and Waterpark slipped back into the relegation battle after they lost to D.L.S.P. 19-8.
Both Midleton and Sunday's Well remain in the bottom two places. Midleton lost at home to leader's Old Belvedere 10-5 and Sunday's Well were blitzed by Barnhall 48-7.
Highfield's promotion hopes from Division Three received a major boost after they defeated Suttonians 39-10 to move into second spot. Clonakilty got back to winning ways with a 22-19 win at home to Naas.
Bruff won the Gleeson League for the first time with a 19-6 win over Nenagh Ormond at Thomond Park. The sides were level 6-6 at half time but a try from John Shine proved to be the turning point in the game.
Cork Transport who were going to pull out of rugby a few weeks ago, because of injuries and a shortage of players had a dramatic win in the McCarthy Cup when an injury time penalty gave them a 20-18 victory over Charleville. Holders Kanturk went down at home to Skibbereen 13-8 and Bandon defeated Cobh Pirates 25-0.
Ballincollig extended their lead at the top of the Junior Two League South table after their 37-0 win at home over Bantry Bay. Cobh Pirates moved into second place after they beat Muskerry 8-5.
Killorglin moved level with Old Christians in the Junior Three League after they beat Castleisland 10-9 and in Division Two Glenbeigh defeated Sunday's Well 10-5.
