The draw, held at next year's final venue Twickenham, threw competition newcomers Connacht a particularly difficult assigment, Ulster perhaps just as tough, with defending champions Leinster arguably faring the best of the Irish sides.

Pool Four: Ulster, Leicster Tigers, Clermont Auvergne, Aironi Rugbu.
Pool Five: Biarritz Olympique, Ospreys, Saracens, Treviso.
Pool Six: Connacht, Toulouse, Harlequins, Gloucester Rugby.
