The 1st XV had a well earned rest last weekend but instead it was chock full of underage fixtures with the J1’s and the U21’s the only adult teams out over the weekend following the J2’s McInerny cup final postponement at the canal bank.

An interesting bit of info in regard to the MSC final, it seems that it was the first final to be played in the upgraded Thomond Park, Bruff and Garryowen also played out the first final under lights in Thomond park way back when, a Gleeson League final, Garryowen coming out on the right side of that win.

J1’s went down to a strong Thomond side in the MSSL under lights and with a dense fog shrouding Kilballyowen on Monday night, finally losing out on an 11 points to 7 scoreline. The U21’s lost out on Saturday to Buccaneers as well, they have an away fixture this coming weekend to Dolphin in Musgrave Park.
This coming Saturday sees a 3rd XV Friendly: Bruff v UL Bohemians, Kilballyowen Park. Time TBC
Sunday 23rd January
All Ireland Cup Semi-final: Bruff v UCD, Kilballyowen Park, 3.00 Extra-time if required. Bruff last played UCD in Kilballyowen over a year ago in Division 2 of the AIL coming out on the right side of a 24 points to 12 win. We’re expecting a big crowd at this one and with a special once-off entry fee of €5 for Adults (Kids free) we hope that you will come along and give us a shout against the Leinster winners.
