The Baa-baas also tackle a London Irish all-stars side at the Stoop tomorrow night in aid of Irish player Jarrod Cunningham, who is suffering from motor-neurone disease. The irony of a Munster player appearing in Back's testimonial won't be lost on members of the red army. The memory of Back's infamous hand of God act in last year's Heineken Cup final in Cardiff is still fresh in the mind.
And with the sides due to meet again in next month's quarter-final Back's interference with a Munster scrum close to the Leicester line late in the game is sure to be recalled once more. Proceeds from Friday's game will go to families of two police officers killed in Leicester last year. Andrew Munn, 37, and Bryan Moore, 39, died when their stationary marked patrol car was hit by a van.
Neil Back, who is currently out with a leg injury, has played 271 times for Leicester, scoring 107 tries, one of only three players to break the ton mark. Big names on parade will include Percy Montgomery and Rob Howley, while former Leicester favourite Richard Cockerill, now with Montferrand, returns to his old club.
