Speculation that Australian flanker George Smith would be joining Munster ended today with the news that he has signed for Toulon.
The 29 year old who has 110 Test caps to his credit, has agreed terms with the 'loads a dosh' French side for a one year stint with the club who will make their debut in the Heineken Cup next season.

Meanwhile Springbok scrumhalf Fourie du Preez could be out of action for up to six months after he undergoes a shoulder operation that if undertaken now, will have him rightfor the 2011 World Cup campaign.

Closer to home, Shane Williams is hoping that rest and physiotherapy will help postpone shouder surgery until after the World Cup. To that end he has withdrawn from Saturday's clash with South Africa and the tour to New Zealand.
