The Irish Schools Team defeated Wales 9-3 to claim the championship title in impressive fashion. Ireland led 9-0 at half-time thanks to a Fergal Lawlor drop-goal and two Eamoin Fizgerald penalties.
The Irish Schools Team defeated Wales by 9-3 to claim the championship title in impressive fashion. Ireland led 9-0 at half-time thanks to a Fergal Lawlor drop-goal and two Eamoin Fizgerald penalties.

Wales narrowed the deficit with a penalty from Greg McCarthy ten minutes after the restart but the Irish mounted a superb defence to thwart the home side.
