Scarlets Beware Of Mundane Munster

Llanelli Scarlets director of rugby Gareth Jenkins says his side must beware of Munster's 10-man game in Saturday's Celtic Cup final at Lansdowne Road.
Scarlets director of rugby Gareth Jenkins says his side must beware of Munster's 10-man game in Saturday's Celtic Cup final at Lansdowne Road.

Jenkins himself is at the centre of a row with Neath-Swansea manager Derwyn Jones following reports that Jones accused Jenkins of trying to influence the referee in half-time of the Scarlets' 23-15 semi-final win last weekend

Llanelli are considering whether to cite Jones for bringing the game into disrepute.

"Munster play limited rugby particularly well," he told BBC Sport.

"They haven't got the stars of a side like Leinster, but there's a fantastic efficiency to their game and they're always 150% up for you."

Munster reached the final with a 17-23 win over Leinster in Dublin, denying the latter a final on home ground.

"There's not a better supported team in Europe than Munster, even if it's not on their home ground," said Jenkins.

"But we've had a disappointing year and this is a chance of silverware to make up for it to some extent."
