The tourists went in front when Hook kicked a 6th minute penalty and threatened to overwhelm the Cheetahs when they led 20-0 after twenty minutes, the Earls try coming in the 15th minute when he latched onto a delightful chip ahead by Hook.  However, the home side recovered and tries from wing Danwell Demas and and prop Du Preez takes  them right back into contention. Hook eased the pressure with his third penalty just before the break.
