Denis hails from Co. Meath but has Munster connections through his time at St. Munchins College and his father Jerry who also played with UCC.

Denis was a late addition to the Irish Under 21 bench for their match against the French in Thomand Park last week, unfortunately he did not get any game time but he maintained his place in the squad for the final Six Nations match against Wales.
