In truth Munster had this game won at half-time, at which they led 27-3 thanks to two tries from Anthony Horgan, a third from John Kelly, all converted by Paul Burke who also kicked two penalties. Burke landed his third penalty at the start of the second half and Munsters bonus came when Shaun Payne kicked up a loose ball to scamper in under the posts and leave replacement Jeremy Manning with the simplest of tap-overs.

It was a hugely impressive performance from Munster whose man of the match was not surprisingly Anthony Horgan, but in truth the award could have gone to any one of several players, including Kelly, Trevor Holstead, Marcus Horan or David Wallace. This munster team were that good.
