Quinlan Appeal Fails

Alan Quinlan misses out on Ireland's final autumn international game against Argentina after losing his appeal to a three week ban in Dublin on Friday afternoon. The appeal committee upheld the original decision and Quinlan's place on the Ireland bench now goes to his Munster colleague Donnacha Ryan.
The IRFU lodged the appeal on Quinlan's behalf after the Munster flanker had received the 3 week ban for an alleged stamping offence in the game against the All Blacks at Croke Park last Saturday.  Quinlan was unable to take his place on the Ireland bench for today's clash with Argentina but will be available for Munster for the round 3 Heineken Cup trip to Clermont Auvergne on December 7th.

Meanwhile, news from the Munster camp ahead of the resumption of the Magners League is that Denis Leamy who was forced out of the epic clash with the All Blacks last Tuesday night, has not suffered serious injury and is expected to be in the mix when Munster announce their squad for the trip to Parc y Stradey next Friday.

Rua Tipoki will undergo further medical examination to determine the seriousness of his injury (knee) with news on that expected early next week.
