Former Munster lock Mick O'Driscoll played a pivotal role in Perpignan's 42-24 victory over Beziers in the French championship on Saturday.

O'Driscoll who has recovery from a knee injury played at number 8 in a side that ran in seven tries, two of those converted by full-back Frederic Cereno who also landed two penalties.

Beziers took the lead with an opening minute penalty but soon found themselves under the cosh and they trailed 22-3 at half time. In the second half Perpignan roared on by the majority of the 10 741 strong crowd, ran in three more tries to wind up convincing role.

It is understood that a member of the Irish national management was on hand to run the rule over O'Driscoll who certainly did his chances of being included in the six nations squad no harm.
