Mullins Wins His 100th Cap.

Mike Mullins won his 100th Munster cap on Saturday in the Celtic League win over Neath-SwOspreys, a little over five years since making his debut for Munster in Temple Hill.
Mike John Marsich Mullins won his 100th Munster cap on Saturday in the 13-9 Celtic League win over mNeath-Swansea Ospreys at Musgrave Park, a little over five years since making his debut for Munster in the 31-20 win over Leinster in the Interprovincial Championship in Temple Hill.

At the start of this season, Mullins was Munster's leading Celtic League try-scorer (15) and also holds the record for the most Celtic League appearances.

Profile - Mike John Marsich Mullins (Born - Auckland, NZ). Was educated at Dargaville and Rangitoto College. He made his Rugby News Under-21 debut in October 91 and after that he made his North Harbour Senior debut playing 35 games for them. He then moved to England to play his rugby with West Hartlepool.

In April '99 he made his Ireland A debut against Italy in Donnybrook. That summer he toured with the Senior squad to Australia and on his return home he moved to Young Munster to play his club rugby. He then won his first full cap when coming on as a replacement for Kevin Maggs against Argentina in August 99, was selected for the World Cup squad and in that tournament he won his second cap playing against Romania.

He won further caps in the 2000 Six-Nations against England, Scotland and Italy, lost his place in the side for the game against France (March 2000), although he did sit on the replacement bench. The following month he won his second A cap when playing against Wales and during the summer 2000 Americas tour he won another three full caps, scoring three tries against the United States.

He played in six games in 2001 but lost his place in the squad until recalled for the summer 2003 tour to Australia. By then a member of Old Crescent, he won further caps on that tour against Samoa in Apia and Tonga in Nuku A'lofa.
