Munster Too Strong For Shoguns
13 August 2002, 9:26 pm
Two tries from the youthful Jeremy Staunton and a brace from the old warhorse Mick Galwey were the highlights of Munster's 31-10 win over Bristol Shoguns at a well attended Thomond Park
About 3000 turned up at Thomond Park to see what was a makeshift Munster take on the touring Shoguns, on a wet night that made ball handling particularly difficult.

However it was the home side who eventually adapted best to the conditions and they from behind twice to end up very convincing winners.

Galwey scored his first try in the 8th minute after Bristol had taken the lead. Jeremy Staunton converted but Bristol took the lead again with a try from Brendon Daniel. However, replacement Kevin O'Riordan restored Munster's advantage and in the second half they produced an emphatic display with two tries from Staunton capping an excellent personal display
