Jerry Flannery
Flannery Suspension Reduced

Jerry Flannery's prospect of playing in the RBS Six Nations Tournament improved dramatically today when an ERC Appeals Committee ruled in his favour.
An independent ERC Disciplinary Committee had decided that Flannery had deliberatley stamped on Julien Bonnaire, and as a result imposed an eight week suspension that would have ruled him out of the RBS Six Nations Tournament.

However the appeals commitee have reviewed the evidence, and accept that Flannery's action was accidental and reduced the sentence by half, to four weeks.

Commenting on the decision, Flannery said "I am really delighted with the outcome. I've known in my heart and soul that I never deliberately stamped on him (Bonnaire).  It is really important to find that this is affirmed by the appeal committee.  I am very grateful that the ERC handled this appeal with such expediancy.  I am hugely appreciative of the support I received, and for the representation made on my behalf by Munster Management and legal team led by Donal Spring".
