The St Patrick s Day Schools Senior Final, sponsored by Coca-Cola will be an all Cork affair, when PBC and CBC meet in Musgrave Park (2.30).

For CBC this game offers them the opportunity to gain compensation for injury time defeat in last year s decider and they include seven players who were involved in that game. Five of those are in the pack captain, lock Ross Noonan, prop Daragh Hurley and the back-row of Billy Holland, Michael Essex and Jonathan Harte and it s this area of the contest that could prove crucial to the outcome of this game.

PBC have a backline laced with talent. It includes two Schools internationals in full-back David Kingston and scrum half Dave O Leary, while wing Finbar Dennehy, outside centre Tom Gleeson and out-half Evan Ryan have all been capped at Munster Schools level. With the type of pace they possess, CBC will need to ration very strictly the amount of ball they receive.

PBC lock Seamus Clinch broke his ankle back in October but recovered in time to play a part in his side s semi-final win over Ard Scoil Ris. His presence in the side from the start provides PBC with a welcome boost and his role and the contest at scrum-half between O Leary and CBC s Duncan Williams could go a long way in deciding what should be a cracking match.
