The Bowen Shield and Under 14 League got the Schools rugby competitive season off to a start. Holders St. Munchin's opened their account with a win over Castletroy College- while both Cork sides recorded victory.

In the Under 14 League- a dramatic last minute try from James Ryan converted from the side line by Robert McGiven earned Rockwell a 15-13 victory over P.B.C.
