Being involved with the Irish team, just the feeling after such a good win against a quality side was one of the best I've ever probably experienced. And then even getting on the pitch for however many minutes it was, was absolutely a dream come through for I myself and my family.
He attributes his rise to the top level to several factors not least the competition in Munster front row. Ah yeah sure, I suppose having the competition between myself Marcus and Wian it drives us all on.
" I suppose having a competitive squad brings out the best in everyone and that strength and depth has brought the best out in players and hopefully that's something going forward that we can keep building on. Getting that strength and depth and that competition for places and obviously learning from the likes of BJ who has played in a World Cup with South Africa, Wian who's capped for South Africa and Marcus with all his experience with Ireland and with Munster, is huge.
He continues with mention of the World Cup winning tight-head. " Yeah, like I do a good bit of work with BJ and actually Paul McCarthy our scrum coach has been excellent. Then there was Greg Feek up with Ireland who taught me a trick or two. But I suppose Paul Mac, Rob (Penney) and BJ would be the major influences. They put a huge focus on our scrum down here and I suppose BJ teaches you a thing or two that maybe you need to learn against more seasoned tight heads.
And he'll bring that knowledge into Saturday's game that he describes as massive. "It's so important for us especially after last weekend's defeat. There are points that we need to get and I think we need to put together a huge performance if we're to do that."
