Second placed Scarlets - they're six points clear of Munster in fourth - have won their last three PRO12 matches and are unbeaten in their last four encounters with Irish provinces in the competition.
For their part Munster have won their last three games in all competitions. Their only home defeat in the RaboDirect PRO12 since October 2011 was 18-9 to Leinster at Thomond Park Stadium last March while their record at Musgrave Park is an impressive 15 winning streak since Glasgow won there 21-18 on the 10th May 2008.
Rob Penney is expected to name his starting XV and replacements on Friday.
