Paul O'Connell will not be taking any part in the opening game of the Guinness Series against South Africa due to a back injury.
O’Connell made a return to training at the start of this week and took a full part in the squad sessions on Monday and Tuesday, but suffered a reaction and will not be fit for selection for this weekend’s game.
Paul will see a specialist in the coming days after which an update will be issued.

Munster have announced that Ronan O'Gara has retired from playing professional rugby. It's understood that the 36 year old will take up a coaching role abroad at the start of the 2013/14 season.
