Isn't it great news about Frankie. I have absolutely no doubt that everyone shares my relief that this awful episode in his life is over and wish him all the best in the future.

September has arrived and with the autumn wind comes rugby in large measure. To date we have played Rotherham and Connacht in warm-up friendlies and won comfortably on both occasions with all our squad getting some playing time plus Woody's guest appearances. We played good rugby most of the time so, perhaps, the auguries for the season are good.

Friday in Donnybrook should give us a fair reading of our abilities. On a note pertinent to all our supporters, this year we will run a competition through our programmes, encompassing all our home matches (14 in all). The competition will extend through 13 of those matches and there will be good prizes at the end. Winners will be announced in the fourteenth programme. The message is, " it could be to your advantage to buy your home programmes."

Since my last website contribution my whole life has changed. I have become a grandfather (to Lucy). So, given that I have joined that august band, may I wish all other grandparents well. I also had a minor accident under the Elk on the Mallow road. Perhaps this is an omen!!

Happy September with best wishes to you all.
