Munster Coaches Visit Thurles

Gary Walsh, Munster Women's Head Coach and Ben Martin, Assistant Coach, recently visited Thurles RFC to meet the Women's club coaches and observe squad training sessions from girls at under 16 age grade through to their senior squad.

Women’s Rugby in Thurles has gone from strength to strength and with the selection of four players Rebecca Byrne, Tanya Dunican, Emma Byrne and Grainne Fennelly to the U18 Munster Girls club selection squad, things are looking bright for the future.

The Munster coaches thanked Thurles RFC for their active promotion of women’s rugby in the area and in particular coaches James Stapleton, Pat Dunican, Brian Scanlon, Arthur Griffin and Liam Ryan for all their efforts.

Women’s training sessions at Thurles RFC take place on Tuesday and Friday evenings for adults and Tuesday and Thursday evenings for girls at under 18 level.
